The Celtic Fans Collective have announced that there will be a boycott of the Scottish Cup tie vs Dundee at Parkhead on Saturday evening.

The Collective met on the 3rd of February to discuss further action against the Celtic board as supporters continued to be disillusioned with the direction the club is going under the current Parkhead regime.

So far, Celtic fans have backed the Not Another Penny Campaign as supporters look to hit the board hard in their pocket.

Stadium protests with Celtic supporters displaying tifos have also been used to get the message across that the board are failing the fans and the Hoops first team.

In Celtic’s win against Falkirk, stand-up protests where Celtic fans chanted ‘Stand up if you hate the board’ were witnessed on a number of occasions.

But now, the protests are going one step further as the Celtic Fans Collective announce their biggest move yet.

The Celtic Fans Collective confirm Scottish Cup boycott vs Dundee

The boycott was announced after much deliberation and it is seen as the next step to force change within the Celtic board.

While the Collective admits this action is ‘deeply emotive and difficult’ the fan group feel that there is no other option after their calls to meet with board members to reach a peaceful resolution have been ignored.

The statement on X read, “Following the latest disappointing transfer window, the Celtic Fans Collective met last night to discuss the ongoing campaign for positive change at the football club.

“An overwhelming majority of supporters’ club representatives, fan group representatives, and independent supporters voted in favour of a boycott of Saturday evening’s cup match against Dundee.

“With supporters unjustly banned, fan media locked out, and an executive team widely regarded as unfit for purpose, the clear feeling within the Collective was that the time for action is now.

“While we recognise the difficult and emotional toll this decision will have on many Celtic supporters, we invite and encourage fans to stand with us in sending a clear and unequivocal message to Celtic FC: you must take decisive action, initiate meaningful change and restore positive communication with supporters.

Three demands the Celtic board must heed to avoid Scottish Cup boycott

However, all this can be avoided if the Celtic board meet three demands the Collective have set which would call off the boycott.

The statement continued, “The Celtic Fans Collective has agreed on three key areas the club must address to prevent the boycott and further protest action:

“Following Brian Wilson’s call for unity four weeks ago, the Celtic Fans Collective offered to meet with the Chairman to discuss how this unity could be achieved at the club.

“Unfortunately, that offer was ignored. Despite this, we remain open to further engagement.

“In the meantime, the Celtic Fans Collective will begin the process of planning and coordinating further protest action in the coming weeks.

With just under four days to go until the boycott goes ahead, the ball lies firmly in the Celtic board’s court now.

And if they ignore this request, then they will only have themselves to blame.
