Celtic Fans Collective launch a defiant message to the Parkhead board after Dundee loss

The Celtic Fans Collective have called the Parkhead board ‘unfit for purpose’ with a strong message after the defeat to Dundee.

The Celtic performance at Dens Park has been indicative of how the season started and, in truth, many fans saw that result coming.

The Parkhead boards failure to strengthen and invest in the Celtic first team has caused poor performances domestically and in Europe and the Hoops support are not happy.

And after watching Brendan Rodgers’ side fail to score for the sixth time this season, the Celtic Fans Collective have launched a defiant message to the Parkhead executives and addressed the fan protest at Dundee.

Fans Collective calls out the ‘failed strategy’ of the Celtic board

There was a mixed reaction to the travelling Celtic support throwing balls onto the Dens Park pitch immediately after kick-off at Dens Park.

Addressing that, the Celtic Fans Collective also launched a message to the board with a strong statement on social media.

The Collective posted on X, “At yesterday’s match, the Celtic Fans Collective conducted its latest protest action as part of the ongoing campaign against the Celtic board.

“On the kick-off whistle, Celtic fans threw a mixture of balls and tangerines onto the park. This caused a short hold-up to the game where Celtic board members were once again exposed live on TV as thousands of supporters loudly and clearly sent a message that the current board is unfit for purpose.

“Unfortunately, the team’s performance was symptomatic of the current state of the club and what fans watched was a direct consequence of the failed strategy of the board.

“Yesterday’s result underlined the urgent need for change in the boardroom with a looming January transfer window which will be critical to the success of this season.

“It is self-evident that we cannot approach January with the same complacency and arrogance that we have seen in recent windows and that a change in approach is required.

“Through the ‘Not Another Penny’ boycott initiative and further actions, the Celtic Fans Collective will continue to coordinate activity to force positive change and hold the Celtic board to account.”

What next for the Celtic board and the fans?

Celtic now face their two biggest games of the season in the Europa League with Sturm Graz and in the Scottish Premiership against Hearts.

With both games being televised live, there will undoubtedly be further protests planned to keep the pressure on Michael Nicholson, Peter Lawwell and Chris McKay.

Live TV coverage gives fans the opportunity to voice their dissatisfaction and the chance to heap embarrassment on the board and these next two Celtic fixtures will be the perfect time to do that.
