Rinse, repeat, rinse and repeat. It has been the story in Glasgow for far too long now.
It starts with Rangers pumping themselves up before a ball is kicked, telling Celtic what they are going to do, before falling flat on their face and watching those in green and white lift the trophies.
Celtic secured the domestic double on Saturday afternoon, while Danny Rohl guided his Rangers side to four defeats from five during the post-split fixtures, and once again, their campaign ended trophyless.
During Celtic’s Scottish Cup final win over Dunfermline Athletic at Hampden, the fans inside the stadium couldn’t help but goad their rivals by chanting ‘Danny, Danny Rohl, Danny, Danny Rohl.’
Give us your gut feeling after the cup final… will Martin O’Neill be Celtic manager next season?
Celtic fans enjoy themselves in the sunshine at Hampden
Many dark clouds have hovered above Celtic Park this season. From Brendan Rodgers’ brutal exit to Celtic’s cancelled AGM, it has been chaos on top of chaos.
But it’s not about how you start, or what happens in the middle, as Martin O’Neill’s side ended the campaign, in the sunshine at Hampden, by lifting yet another Scottish Cup.
Along the way, the supporters inside the national stadium were able to mock their rivals, including Rangers boss Rohl by chanting his name, and even Hearts’ sour title loser, Derek McInnes.

What next for Celtic?
Yes, Celtic have won the double, mocked their rivals and sent them home crying.
But that doesn’t mean the mess of this campaign should be forgotten about, because big changes are still needed at Parkhead.
It starts with Celtic appointing a new manager, whether that’s O’Neill or somebody else; a call needs to be made straight away.
On top of that, a new chief executive needs to enter the boardroom. Ideally, the fans would prefer the likes of Dermot Desmond to walk away, but let’s be honest, that isn’t going to happen.
When all of that is in place, that’s when the clear-out of the squad can begin, and a huge overhaul needs to happen during this summer’s transfer window.
That’s when everyone at Celtic can look forward, enjoy this summer’s World Cup, where several Bhoys will feature, and avoid repeating the nonsense of this season in 26/27.
