Celtic fans have debated Martin O’Neill’s permanent future.
After Celtic secured an unlikely league and Scottish Cup double, all eyes turned to the Parkhead dugout, where the club now have a decision to make.
The team’s upturn in form under O’Neill compared to under Brendan Rodgers and (especially) Wilfried Nancy was nothing short of miraculous, making his credentials as a manager as clear as day.
But is his appetite for a summer rebuild equally as clear? Hoops fans on TalkingPoints have been having their say.
Give us your gut feeling after the cup final… will Martin O’Neill be Celtic manager next season?
Celtic fans split on Martin O’Neill’s future
For some fans, it’s clear: all roads lead to O’Neill being the manager next season.
One said: “I have a feeling he might, just because Dermot Desmond will ask him and he won’t say no.”

Another fan agreed: “To be honest, I’ve got the mortgage on it at this point.”
One more said: “Look, whatever happens, the man’s a winner and I personally believe he’s in with a great chance of being the next manager.”
The carrot of Champions League football will be the decisive factor in the eyes of another fan: “I think he’ll stay for one more go at the Champions League.”
Others have doubts over whether O’Neill will say yes. One TalkingPoints user said: “Honestly, anything else is a step backwards.
“That’s just because he’s won the double (would’ve most likely been the treble if he’d been given the extra week…), what would be the benefit of looking elsewhere?
“He’s free, knows the situation, and let’s face it, if he doesn’t want the job he’s old and wise enough to say so…but he should be asked.”
Some fans are tipping him for roles upstairs at the club, with one explaining: “Martin will get the chairman’s job as he’s the one who connects with the fans and knows how to handle the media.
“And I’ll stick my neck on the block and say Robbie Keane’s the man in the manager’s seat.”
Finally, one fan can even see him replacing Michael Nicholson, saying: “I hope [he remains as manager]. But he should at least get a job upstairs. CEO???”
