The Celtic board could not be more out of touch with the supporters.
The leadership at the club has been called into question by Celtic supporters after a disastrous transfer window was followed up by yet another Champions League exit to a run-of-the-mill European side.
Failing to strengthen the Celtic first-team while selling off Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah whilst still not replacing Kyogo since January was the straw that broke the camel’s back this summer.
And after reading Celtic’s statement yesterday, fans are now telling the board exactly what they intend to do now in order to force regime change at Parkhead.

What Celtic said to spark furious fan anger
In response to the Celtic Fan Collective releasing a small update on Monday night’s meeting, the club decided to share their thoughts on how the summit went.
Summarised, Celtic said, “We acknowledged that the Club is not where we want it to be at the moment, that we have not achieved all of our objectives in the summer transfer window and the Champions League, and that mistakes have been made from which we will learn. We recognise the concerns raised, share the frustrations of our supporters and valued the opportunity to hear from supporters last night.
“Our immediate objective is to seek to make progress, without negatively impacting on the team on the field of play, and that we continue to focus on delivering success this season.
“The Club offered to continue to meet with supporters’ organisations moving forward and is committed to ongoing dialogue with our wider support. We have always engaged in regular discussions with supporter groups and will continue to do so, with the aim of ensuring that we can work collaboratively and positively in the best interests of our team on the pitch and our Club as a whole.”
The arrogance of talking about the transfer window shambles, the Champions League exit and even ‘engaging regularly’ with fans tipped the Celtic support over the edge and some have now made a massive promise to the Parkhead suits.
Celtic fans set to boycott Adidas and hit the board in the pocket
Celtic fans have now clearly had enough. While there were some who may have appreciated what the board have done to stabilise the club financially, all that is about to change.
The statement Celtic released yesterday has elicited a furious response from supporters and many have now vowed to boycott any money-making ventures the club have on the go.
@Alfa6409 nailed it with this reply with his reasoning for the board agreeing to meet fan groups, “All for the Adidas launch on the 16th. That’s the reason for the PR Company suggested fan-group meeting. Financially driven.”
@ChinaBhoy agreed and told Celtic, “No more meetings. PR exercise for the Board 🦕 . Merch boycott incoming.”
@stef18881 wants Celtic hit in the pocket and said, “The only power we possess as Celtic supporters is financial. Boycott of selected games and merchandise, it’s the only way. We need to get serious.”
@RyanStevenF2 replied, “Hit the board where it hurts, don’t spend another penny on merchandise on match days & food & drink. Support the team & ensure the board know at every game, they are nothing more than parasites. We, the real-life blood of Celtic, need to stick together against poor custodians.”
It seems that all Celtic have done is fuel fan determination to force change at the club quicker as the board continues to ignore or even recognise the Open Letter that was signed by over 420 fan-led organisations over six weeks ago.
