Celtic fans react to who could be Rangers’ next manager after Philippe Clement’s sacking

Brendan Rodgers has seen off another Rangers manager at Celtic.

Celtic losing to Hibernian at Easter Road was supposed to make the headlines, but then those across the road told everyone in green and white colours to put their beers down.

That’s because, hours after the Hibs game, Rangers lost at home to St Mirren, and then on Sunday, they sacked Philippe Clement as manager.

It’s been a great laugh, Philippe!

Clement leaves Glasgow and Rangers where he left them, that’s behind Celtic and watching the Bhoys looking to book another title parade.

Now, all eyes will be on who will be Rangers’ next manager and who is going to dare to try and stop Rodgers from dominating in Scotland.

Whether it’s his first spell or upon his return to Celtic Park, time and time again, Rodgers sees off and bats away any man from the opposition who tries to take him on.

And, perhaps, another familiar face will face up against Rodgers again as Rangers look for a new manager.

Celtic fans react to the possibility of Steven Gerrard returning after Rangers sack Philippe Clement

Steven Gerrard won one trophy during his time at Ibrox, before leaving in 2021 for Aston Villa, where he fell flat on his face, before being sacked inside 12 months and then joining the Saudi Pro League.

The former Liverpool midfielder left Al-Ettifaq in January and there is now talk on social media of Gerrard replacing Clement.

Gerrard seems to be the favourite of the bookmakers, although, it’s still early days and Celtic fans are open to the idea of the Englishman coming back!

@Maedasteel wouldn’t mind Gerrard coming back: ‘So would every celtic fan just the 2 trebles under his watch’.

@lennybhoys711 added: ‘Would love him to come back’.

@KR1888C continued the theme: ‘So would we’.

@LukeKC67 made his point clear: ‘I really hope they do bring back Steven Gerrard so we can end this conspiracy that he’s a good manager. Bring it on whoever it may be’.

@stephencl8 thinks it would be hilarious: ‘Clement out Gerrard in?? Come on do it. 😂’

@LiamMcc67 is also hoping for a Gerrard return: ‘Clement gone, hope and pray gerrard comes back’.

@CelticEnvoy added his pennies worth: ‘I’d love to see Gerrard back at Rangers!’

@redoctoberirp thinks the Clement era was certainly a laugh: ‘I genuinely hope Rangers * appoint Gerrard as their new manager so that this whole revisionism that he outdone Celtic can be put to bed once and for all. Anyway, goodbye Clement, thanks for the memories, it was a laugh’.

Rodgers and Gerrard know each other very well after the Irishman managed the goalscoring midfielder during their time at Liverpool.

And then they competed on four occasions in the dugout.

Regardless of who Rangers appoint, you just know there will be a lot of noise and hype around the name.

Then Rodgers will do what he does best and that’s seeing off another man in the Ibrox dugout, winning more trophies and watching the entertainment unfold with a cigar in hand.
