Brendan Rodgers has a huge job on his hands this summer.
Despite winning two out of a possible three trophies, Celtic’s season ended on a sour note as they lost a cup final and encountered a dip in form.
A squad overhaul is expected and while Chris Sutton thinks Celtic will be better thanks to Rangers’ takeover, plenty of work needs to be done.
Some Celtic stars have played their last game for the club and will depart in the summer but there are others returning to Parkhead with a point to prove and a future to fight for.
One of those is already on the back foot though, despite ending his season with success.

Marco Tilio wins A-League Grand final in final Melbourne City appearance
Marco Tilio has made a grand total of two appearances for Celtic since his arrival in 2023 but has been shifted out on loan back to Melbourne City in Australia.
Tilio has had injury issues that have plagued his career and upon returning home, has hoped to recapture the form that encouraged Celtic to take a gamble on him.
His loan spell has now officially ended and he is expected back at Lennoxtown in June and will come back in good spirits after winning the A-League Grand final.
He started and played the full game in Melbourne City’s 1-0 win against local rivals Melbourne Victory and they were crowned champions of Australia for the season.
Celtic fans not sure Marco Tilio will succeed
Once he has finished on international duty with Australia, Tilio will prepare to link up with the Celtic squad for pre-season.
Tilio had mixed fortunes out on loan but some Hoops fans appear to have written him off after watching the A-League final and believe that he should be one of those sold in the summer.
@Yogi_theTim said: “Won’t take a man on, no game or positional awareness, constantly goes backwards, and easily brushed off the ball. The boy is better off staying in Oz. He won’t last here.”
@railroad7654 added: “Tilio is the most overrated player over there.”
In a response to his reaction to be fouled during the game, @fattmatt31 wrote: “Tilio wanna act like that, you don’t deserve to wear green & white.”
