Celtic fans are counting down the days before Kieran Tierney returns to the club.
It has been many months since Tierney returned to the Arsenal set-up after suffering a hamstring injury for Scotland at Euro 2024.
Boyhood Celtic fan John McGinn shared how he sympathises with the left-back because, every time he gets injured, it’s always ‘something serious’.
Now, Tierney is back in action and has also returned to Scotland colours ahead of their two UEFA Nations League games against Greece.
The Arsenal man has also linked up with his soon-to-be Celtic teammate Anthony Ralston on the international stage, as McGinn has rightfully given the man with a left foot wand his flowers.

John McGinn hails Kieran Tierney’s quality ahead of Celtic return
Yes, Tierney has had his injury issues, but when he is fit and out on the pitch, then there aren’t many better than him.
That’s why, at the age of 27, Celtic are lucky that Tierney will don their colours next season and McGinn stated that he is ‘one of the best players in Britain’, as he told his press conference.
“It is (good to have Tierney back),” said McGinn. “We were winding him up about playing left wing last week in the Champions League.
“No, brilliant to have him back. A fit and firing Kieran Tierney is one of the best players, not only in Scotland, but in Britain, so we are grateful to have him back.
“He is a big character about the boys and, thankfully, I can still play my music and leave KT to it.
“He never seems to get a bit of luck. It’s always something serious when he gets injured. His injury was a freak hamstring injury when he was keeping up with one of the fastest players in the tournament (at Euro 2024). It was a massive loss for us, at the time.
“But, for him to do it for so long was probably difficult for him to deal with, but now he is back, getting a bit more minutes for Arsenal and we will see what he will do in the summer.”
Tierney’s stats for Arsenal this season
As mentioned above, Tierney has been back on the training field since December, but he hasn’t played as many minutes as he would have liked.
On one hand, that helps Celtic because it means that he isn’t being overworked before returning to Glasgow in the summer.
But, on the other, given Arsenal’s troubles, he probably should be earning more game time and even his performances are deserving of it.
