Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has seen off another Rangers manager over his second tenure in Glasgow.
Rangers sacked Russell Martin late last night as the Ibrox club fell nine points behind Celtic and 11 adrift of Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Celtic beat Motherwell after Daizen Maeda’s late strike capped off a superb fightback from the Bhoys who were 2-1 down with 21 minutes left to play.
But as Celtic fans celebrated that win, Rangers supporters were in despair at Falkirk after a 1-1 draw appeared to be the final straw for the Ibrox club as they parted company with Russell Martin.
And Chris Sutton’s instant reaction made the Celtic hero take a cheeky swipe at Kris Boyd.

Chris Sutton pokes Boyd as Celtic hero reacts to Rangers sacking Russell Martin
Sutton never fails to miss whenever the Celtic hero takes a pop at Rangers and Boyd and reacting to Martin’s sacking, the ex-Hoops striker didn’t miss.
Sutton took to X and said, “My sources are saying Boydy to come to Rangers’ rescue…’
With the international break now under way, Rangers are seeking for yet another new manager as their next failed attempt at trying to catch up with Celtic fails.
Rangers sacking Martin means only one thing for Celtic boss Rodgers
Now that Rangers have departed with Russell Martin, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers now knows he needs to do one thing.
Get his team playing more ruthlessly and more clinically. A new manager bounce will hit Rangers and their results will pick up. Which means Celtic cannot afford to let this current malaise around their performances to continue.
The fightback against Motherwell was great to see as Celtic have been struggling in front of goal lately but when the league restarts against Dundee on the 19th of October, nothing but a big win and a better performance will do as the busiest part of the season approaches.
