Brendan Rodgers’ demands were not met in Celtic’s summer transfer window.
A frustrating few months saw the likes of Jakob Breum, Louis Munteanu and most recently Kasper Dolberg not brought to the club despite reported interest.
The side’s lack of attacking reinforcements, along with the high-profile departure of Nicolas Kuhn to Como as well as Adam Idah’s move to Swansea, have left Rodgers’ squad appearing weaker.
The arrival of Kelechi Iheanacho was necessary after the transfer deadline passed without the arrival of a high-profile striker.
Rodgers is yet to speak publicly since the window closed – but for one club insider, his relationship with the club appears to be in a bad way.
Brendan Rodgers will not resign despite bad relationship says Stephen McGowan
Rumours about Rodgers’ future continue to swirl, in terms of his contract but also his immediate steps.

For club expert Stephen McGowan however, there are plenty of reasons why he won’t resign from his position – but that doesn’t mean that there is no reason for concern.
Speaking on the Press Box Podcast, McGowan said: “There’s three million reasons why he won’t resign. We know how football works. Managers, if they want to go, want their contract paid up.
“And the very last club who want to pay Brendan Rodgers two-and-a-half million pounds to go away are Celtic. They barely pay two-and-a-half million for a centre forward, so why would they pay it to a manager who’s not honouring his contract?
“I think it’s a bit of a stand-off now. It looks like the relationship is in a very bad way from the outside, and it’s a case of who blinks first.”
Until a solution is found to Rodgers’ contract situation, the discourse will continue one way or another.
Brendan Rodgers has one season to end his Celtic story on a high
Some have ridiculed the Celtic support for their ongoing complaints, which led to a controversial club statement on Saturday night.
Celtic have won 12 out of the last 13 available league titles since 2012, winning five trebles in that time.
But with repeated transfer window disappointments holding the club back in Europe, there is a feeling that the club isn’t fully reaching its potential.
For Rodgers, the focus will be on suppressing the negativity with positive results, despite the lack of Champions League football.
