Celtic loanee Shin Yamada returns after omission as Preussen Munster edge closer to relegation

Celtic’s recruitment has taken a major hit this season, but one man continues to feel the blows, and that’s Shin Yamada.

Not only did Yamada walk into a mess when he joined Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale last summer, but he was hardly used by the three managers in the dugout – Brendan Rodgers, Martin O’Neill and Wilfried Nancy.

But somehow, life on the pitch has become worse for Yamada because he is edging closer to relegation to the Bundesliga’s third-tier with Preussen Munster.

Only recently, Yamada was frozen out by Preussen Munster, not even making their matchday squads, even though they are sitting at the bottom of Germany’s second-tier.

But there is some light at the end of the tunnel, because the Celtic loanee returned to action over the weekend.

Was Shin Yamada unfairly treated at Celtic?

Shin Yamada returns to action but Preussen Munster lose again

Just like at Celtic, it’s not Yamada’s fault that Preussen Munster are in such a mess.

They were already in a relegation battle when he joined in the winter, and probably were heading down anyway.

But the fact of the matter is that the former J-League star has struggled to get on the pitch for a team that might be playing in Germany’s third-tier next season.

Over the weekend, as Celtic were beating Falkirk to open their post-split fixture list with a bang, Yamada earned himself a rare 45 minutes against Arminia Bielefeld.

When Yamada was introduced into the action, his side was losing 3-1, and they would go on to suffer a 3-2 defeat.
