Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham hasn’t quite left the club yet, despite reports over the last couple of months.
In fact, he’s travelled with Ange Postecoglou’s Bhoys to Wales today. The Frenchman was spotted by the SNS Group, who had a photographer in place to capture the squad before their flight.
Celtic will spend the next ten days down south training and playing friendlies against Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton and Bristol City.
One of the last updates we had on Ntcham’s situation came from reports in Greece that suggested AEK Athens were confident of landing him on a free transfer.
However, it appears that he is very much still under contract at the Bhoys and will now be put through his paces at the training camp.
There’s even the chance of him getting match action – something no-one would have thought possible when he left for Marseille on loan in January.
In fact, he even posted a goodbye message to the club when he made the move to France, wishing the club all the best for the future.
A lot has changed since then of course and it remains to be seen how the club will handle his future. Selling him may be the best thing for all parties, but Ange will want to make sure he isn’t letting a suitable talent walk out the door.
Ntcham has less than a year left on his current contract and the Bhoys will surely want to realise some sort of value on a transfer if he isn’t going to sign a new contract.
An interesting few weeks lie ahead.
