A moment for the ages from Daizen Maeda, as Celtic downed Rangers on Sunday at Parkhead.
There have been some unreal derby day goals, but Maeda’s overhead kick is certainly near the top of the list for many Celtic supporters.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion as the ball hit the top corner in front of a stunned Celtic Park.
Hoops stars past and present reacted on social media to Maeda’s wonderstrike with Hyunjun Yang, who scored a solo goal against Rangers this season, telling his teammate to ‘take my season goal award.’
Former goalkeeper Joe Hart, who also got to play alongside the Japan star for a short period of time, responded with one word: ‘wow.’

Daizen Maeda’s goal dominates Celtic’s win over Rangers
Even after scoring such a crazy goal, Maeda is still humble as ever, and even suggested that his overhead kick was ‘lucky.’
It certainly wasn’t, and it’s a strike that will be remembered for many, many years in Glasgow.
But following Celtic’s win over Rangers, Maeda took to his Instagram and wrote ‘two more to go’ and ‘Glasgow is always green’, before he was flooded with messages from players past and present.
