Celtic share even more fantastic content from Ferencvaros win

It’s coming up for two days since Celtic beat Ferencvaros, but the buzz of that game is still being felt amongst the supporters.

Cannily, the club know this. They know we’re still beaming from when over 50,000 Celtic fans turned up at 3.30pm on a Tuesday. When they did, they saw some great football, hearty performances and a goal that’s already a classic.

After the Unique Angle fun from earlier on today, Celtic shared some substantial content from Tuesday’s win. Is it possible the club are milking a game the Bhoys ought to have won anyway? Who cares?

In footage that might land more than a handful of fans in trouble with their work, the fantastic celebrations from the two goals against Ferencvaros have been recorded and shared for perpituity.

Is ‘Paradise Fan Cam’ now a thing?

Meanwhile, if you prefer GIFs, the club put up a host of them [GIPHY]. You’ve got Ange Postecoglou going wild, Kyogo and Turnbull’s celebrations and, somewhat curiously, a zoomed-in GIF of the ball at kick-off.

Well, why not?

If you’re running a football club and can’t capitalise on when they’re doing well, what are you doing it for? Celebrating fans, the whole stadium dancing, the manager pumping his fists – it’s all good fun.

Celtic are more than entitled to share content from Ferencvaros game they know fans will love

Running a social media page for a football club must be great fun when things are going well.

Clearly, the messaging from the top about social media has changed. Increasingly, we’re seeing things that Celtic fans are strongly reacting to in an overwhelmingly positive manner.

Fans are getting to know the new faces on Instagram. B Team players are giving excellent interviews. Across the first-team, B Team and Women’s team, supporters are getting better access than ever before. Press conferences are routinely shared quickly after they’re finished.

It’s all very good stuff.

It has a practical function though, as well as being fun. Ange Postecoglou wasn’t well-known to Scottish audiences before he became Celtic manager. The club pounced on that immediately, and shared interviews, behind-the-scenes training footage and all sorts. That played a key part in the love-in Celtic fans have with Ange now.

It’s very easy to criticise social media teams when things aren’t going well. Last season, the club’s media staff took plenty of flak for posting about players’ birthdays and the like.

But credit where credit’s due. This kind of thing is extremely enjoyable. Long may the results go our way, and the good times roll both online and off.
