All the noise around Benjamin Nygren suggests that he is going to be a big hit at Celtic.

Nygren joined Celtic last weekend to become the Hoops’ third signing of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Henrik Larsson’s son has given a glowing review of Nygren, who has become the eighth Swedish international to play for Celtic.

One man who knows him better than anyone is Gareth Henderby, who was part of the FC Nordsjaelland transfer committee that signed the 23-year-old in 2022, and he has revealed what Celtic fans can expect.

Benjamin Nygren’s biggest strength revealed

Henderby can take a lot of credit for bringing Nygren to Denmark after his difficult spells with Genk and Heerenveen.

Nordsjaelland was the club he unlocked his potential at and his goalscoring record is one that will get Hoops fans off of their seats.

However, Henderby has revealed a bigger strength in his game that supporters will love.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: “I know he’s adapted into quite a versatile forward player. He likes to play right and come inside on his left. He’s had a good season. But it was kind of a stop-start the first two years. Getting into his number nine position was difficult. He picked up a few injuries.

“Then he started playing a few other positions. And just this past season everything really clicked for him. He got a real run of games and became an important player.”

Benjamin Nygren tipped to enjoy goal scoring season

Last season saw the winger’s best goalscoring season, bagging 15 times in all competitions.

At Celtic, a far more dominant side than Nordsjaelland domestically, the new signing is guaranteed to get chances and has been tipped to enjoy another successful season in front of goal.

“Benjamin has an eye for goal, definitely. Over a long season playing for a club like Celtic, where there’s a lot of games, he will chip in with goals and assists,” said Henderby.

“I feel he will adapt pretty well going in there. Obviously, there’ll be a high competition for him. It’s a solid signing for a Swedish international player, not costing too much money, who’s had a great season.”
