Brendan Rodgers will be glad that Celtic can do their talking on the field of play ahead of the visit of Dundee United on Wednesday night.
This past week has been an interesting one to say the least because everyone has seen the Celtic boss like you have never seen him before.
Usually, the drama and so-called negative headlines come when you aren’t performing on the pitch and showing signs that you aren’t going to win a trophy.
But Rodgers has won three trophies since returning to Parkhead last summer and that will become, at the very least, four by the time this current season is out.
Saying that, Celtic’s 3-0 win over St Mirren on Sunday sparked a few interesting talking points because the manager came out fighting.
Aside from being annoyed by the Kieran Tierney chants, Rodgers wasn’t happy with fans getting frustrated by the players not moving the ball forward quickly enough and his actions have been defended.

Celtic told Brendan Rodgers has earned the right to be critical of supporters
Look, if Celtic weren’t winning games or trophies, then you question if Rodgers would even dare come out and be so critical.
But you suppose the club’s current situation makes it easier for him to breathe and Marvin Bartley thinks the Irishman is the only manager in Scotland who has ‘earned the right’ to talk in such a way, as he told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
Bartley highlighted Rodgers’ record this season and admitted that he can ‘understand’ where he is coming from.
“I think Brendan has come out, spoken with passion and he is frustrated,” said Bartley. “I think if anyone has earned the right, any manager in Scotland, then it’s him so far this season.
“That’s one defeat. Obviously, it came against Rangers, their biggest rivals, they are clear in the league, won the League Cup and they are doing really, really well in the Champions League, so I understand his frustrations. It’s 20 minutes into a game. If it had been the 80th minute or the 90th minute, and the fans were showing their frustration, I am sure Brendan would have come out and said ‘I understand it. 0-0 at home to St Mirren’.
“But it’s 20 minutes into a game of football. He also said, ‘it’s 11 v 11’. St Mirren aren’t going to go there, lay down and let Celtic do what they want to do. They have played a lot of games. Yes, there is going to be flatness. They aren’t superhuman, regardless of what they get paid. They would have been affected by losing to Rangers. They know they have to come out and respond to that. At the end of the day, you look at the final result, they have done that and kept a clean sheet. They won 3-0 and I think St Mirren had one shot on target. I am not going against any supporters out there, but I do understand what Rodgers has said and his frustration at certain sections of the supporters booing.”
Celtic’s record under Rodgers this season
It also shouldn’t be forgotten that Celtic are heading towards the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The final two games of the revamped group stages will conclude this month – at home to Young Boys and an away trip to Aston Villa.
Just one more win should do, but overall, it’s pretty impressive that Rodgers has only tasted two defeats.
