Unless the Celtic board admit defeat or hand in their notice, you can only see one outcome with Brendan Rodgers’ future.
It’s pretty obvious that won’t happen because, even after the Celtic fans met with the board during the October international break, the frustration and anger has only grown.
That’s why the Celtic Park faithful are bracing themselves for Rodgers’ exit, as some have already started to flutter the gossip channels as to who could come in.
Charlie Mulgrew threw a name into the hat that would be welcomed back by all supporters.

Who will be Celtic’s next manager?
Ange Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest over the weekend, only months after getting the boot by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
Speaking on Go Radio, Mulgrew thinks the Celtic board will speak to Postecoglou, and he even thinks he will be the ‘first name’ those in the boardroom will contact.
Mulgrew made it clear that he now expects Rodgers to leave after the final ball is kicked this term, and Postecoglou would be the ‘perfect fit’ for the champions of Scotland.
“I don’t know if he (Postecoglou) would (come back),” said Mulgrew. “Only he knows the answer to that question.
“But there is no doubt about it, he would probably be the first name the Celtic board would try and speak to, I would imagine.
“What a manager he was. Actually, when you look at what he has done for Celtic, he was like the perfect fit. An amazing manager. Forward-thinking playing manager.
“Listen, Brendan Rodgers is a great manager for Celtic. Things just aren’t great, at the moment. To answer your question, if Brendan Rodgers moves on, of course, he (Ange) will be the first.
“I think it looks like it. I just think if it’s not before then, it will definitely be by the end of the season. There are no talks about a contract. It has totally died down. It looks like, to me, he is away at the end of the season.
“That’s what it all boils down to. If the recruitment had been done earlier and better, I don’t think we would be having this conversation.”
Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic record
Some Celtic fans argue that Postecoglou played better football than any of Rodgers’ two spells, well, definitely this current term from the Irishman.
But whilst Postecoglou won the Europa League with Spurs, and was treated dreadfully by Forest, he has taken several verbal beatings since leaving Glasgow and needs picking up.
Perhaps Celtic can provide that and add to his legendary record.
- Postecoglou’s games for Celtic: 113
- Wins: 83
- Draws: 12
- Losses: 18
- Goals scored: 284
- Goals conceded: 108
- Points per match: 2.31
- Trophies: 5
