Talk about timing. With all the fuss over the announcement of Brendan Rodgers being appointed the new Celtic manager, Footy Headlines has only just gone and released leaked photos of the new Celtic home kit for next season.

Here at 67 Hail Hail, we spoke last month about how German sportswear giant, Adidas had bizarrely listed the home socks for sale in conjunction with the new third kit.

The design of the socks gave a little hint of how the new home shirt will look and I have to say, it is something special and out of the ordinary.

Footy Headlines were sent a photo of the new kit which was spotted on sale in Toronto by an eagle-eyed supporter. It is not due to be released for sale officially by the club until later in the week according to the report. Of course, we are not strangers to this. Every season we see new images leaked of kits online before it hits the shops.

The design is different from the normal green and white hoops. The new design has a snake skin sort of slate stone look about it on the green hoops. The edges of the hoops look wavy rather than the straight edge we are all accustomed to.

The collar is a thick black, round neck with the iconic Adidas three stripes travelling up the sleeves of the jersey to join the collar at the top.

The Adidas logo sits proudly and emboldened on the right-hand side of the jersey with the Celtic badge in its usual place on the left with a silver star on top. The Dafabet branding sits centrally within the middle of the top. You can view it using the link above.

The top is sure to cause a huge debate amongst the fans. Not since season 2013/14 have we seen such a rebrand of the Hoops. White pinstripes seemed to separate the normally thick unbroken green and white hoops. It was a design the club kept for two seasons. [The Celtic Wiki]

In my opinion, I still think the new design will be hugely popular. In fact, scratch that, the Celtic fans will undoubtedly still buy the new top in their droves regardless of its popularity.

The news of a new manager being appointed coupled with some new signings will drive sales of the new home kit alone.
