Celtic have another young gun and rising star in the building.

Callum Osmand signed for Celtic from Fulham this summer, even though he is yet to make a senior appearance at club level.

Despite not playing at any top level yet, it doesn’t mean that Osmand hasn’t faced some serious ballers in his young career.

The 19-year-old has only played for Fulham’s younger age groups and has also been rising through the ranks with Wales.

And he picked out two stars you might hear a lot more about in these coming years because they are starting to make a name for themselves on the European stage.

Callum Osmand on playing against Kenan Yıldız and Arda Guler

To play for a club of the calibre of Real Madrid at any age is pretty special, and even scary for some, but to do it when you have just come out of your teenage years is even better.

That’s what Arda Guler is facing in Madrid, as it shouldn’t be a surprise that Osmand named him as his toughest opponent on Celtic TV.

Guler is also a Turkey international, and Osmand gave the Madrid superstar a mention, alongside Juventus’ Kenan Yıldız.

“(The best player I have played) against would be either Kenan Yıldız or Arda Guler,” said Osmand. “I played them in a under-17 Wales v Turkey match, and they were good.”

Is Guler Real Madrid’s next superstar?

Osmand will be hoping to face Guler ahead of the new season, but it will require Celtic to qualify for the Champions League.

Rodgers’ side will need to go through qualifiers this time around, and then there is every chance that Madrid come up in the hat.

If that’s the case, then the Celtic Park faithful will get to see what Guler is all about because he is proving to be Madrid’s next superstar under new boss Xabi Alonso, and this is how he was rated at the recent FIFA Club World Cup.
