Alex Valle’s loan move from Barcelona to Celtic was cut short in January.

Valle’s Bhoys future was up in the air as Kieran Tierney’s rumoured return to Celtic Park circulated over the past few weeks.

Valle left Celtic to join Como at the beginning of the week which allowed Brendan Rodgers to confirm Tierney’s Hoops return in the summer but Celtic fans will be hoping that move can be completed sooner.

As the Celtic manager looks to add another player to his squad, Como manager, Cesc Fabregas, name-checked the Parkhead club after sealing the deal to land the Barcelona full-back on loan until the end of the season.

Cesc Fabregas’ Celtic shout-out after landing Alex Valle on loan at Como

Fabregas was appointed Como’s head coach in July 2024 after they gained promotion to the Serie A last season.

Owned by one of the world’s richest men, the Italian club are splashing the cash to avoid relegation and sees Valle as a defender who can help secure their place in the Italian top flight.

Fabregas told Como FC’s official website, “Álex is a talented young defender with a solid foundation from his time at Barcelona and valuable experience gained during his loan at Celtic.

“His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively will be a great asset to our team.”

Valle said, “I am very happy to be here and I am enthusiastic about the project that the Club is carrying forward.

“I spoke with Mister Fabregas, his words gave me a lot of confidence. I think his style of play suits my characteristics well. I can’t wait to get on the pitch with my teammates!”

Watch Alex Valle use Celtic to send a message to Como fans

Clearly, with Celtic still close to Valle’s heart, the young Spaniard used the Parkhead club to send a message to the Como fans in a video posted on the Serie A side’s social media feed.

Valle simply said, “Let’s get started” as the young defender held up placards of him being spoken about on social media whilst at Celtic.

Valle made his Como debut in a 2-0 defeat to Bologna.
