Celtic appear to have turned a corner under Wilfried Nancy after big wins against Livingston and Aberdeen.
Nancy looks like he has got his attacking message across to his players as Celtic have now scored seven goals in their last two games.
However, Celtic still look vulnerable in defence as Nancy’s tactics leave the backline exposed to the counterattack.
And that is one of the reasons why former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew admits that despite the last two wins, he’s not getting carried away with the results.

Mulgrew says Celtic miss John Kennedy’s defensive advice
Celtic have conceded 13 goals since Nancy took over and that is a trend that has Mulgrew looking at the last couple of results with suspicion.
Mulgrew said on The Breakdown, “I don’t know this for certain, but I’d imagine that would have been John Kennedy’s [remit].
“I know he was big on sort of going through analysis with players individually and as units, and I think that would have been a big part of his role within the club to sort out the defensive side when the team are attacking, rest/defence or whatever you want to call it.
“I just think Celtic need to improve on that. I’m not fooled by the last couple of wins. I mean Aberdeen can’t score and they scored with ten men at Celtic Park.
“I just think that it’s a big area Celtic need to look at when they are defending, how can they cover the centre of the pitch? How can they organise that quickly?”
Is Charlie Mulgrew right about Celtic’s last two wins? Let us know in the comments.
Celtic players who are thriving with Nancy
Despite the negativity surrounding Nancy’s tactics at Celtic, there are players who are thriving under the Frenchman.
Hyunjun Yang looks a different player. The South Korean looks confident, full of energy and willing to take on any player.
He’s even getting up and down the right flank with ease to support the defence as well as the attack.
Benjamin Nygren is another who is flourishing. A double in Celtic’s win at Livingston complemented his goal against Aberdeen as the Swede looks like he’s really enjoying his time at the club.
Arne Engels recently admitted he’s really enjoying his football under Nancy at Celtic and is now starting to get a decent run in the team.
There are areas in which Celtic must improve but it would be remiss and folly to deny that whilst there is still scepticism surrounding Nancy’s tactics, there are positive signs that this could really work.
