The deal to bring Adam Idah to Celtic from Norwich City appears to be finally done and it will bring an end to a long summer of speculation.
This morning, we discussed how Celtic has agreed to pay up to £9.5m for the Republic of Ireland striker, making this potentially the most expensive Celtic signing of all time.
Norwich agreed to a deal being done after Celtic offered an eye-watering £8.5m upfront and with a further £1m of add-ons, the fee will exceed what Brendan Rodgers paid for Odsonne Edouard back in 2018.
And now that the summer-long transfer saga appears to be over, Chris Sutton has shared what he thinks about the fee Celtic have finally decided to shell out for the 23-year-old.
Sutton hails ‘good move’ by Celtic
Sutton has been vocal about Celtic’s long-running summer negotiations with Norwich for Idah and now that the deal has finally been agreed upon, the former Hoops hero took to social media to deliver his verdict on the news:
It certainly does seem like this is a good deal for all parties involved.
Adam Idah gets the Celtic move he has wanted after making his intentions clear to Norwich about where he saw his future this summer.
Norwich is getting a sizeable fee for a player who wasn’t anywhere near a part of their plans a the turn of the New Year.

As for Celtic, they have now invested in a player who has a bright future and, more importantly, have made a very public statement of backing Brendan Rodgers.
The Celtic boss made it very clear that he wanted Idah at the end of last season. And now that Idah is set to become a permanent member of the squad and, potentially, Celtic’s most expensive signing ever, the board have stepped up to ensure Rodgers gets the backing he deserves after delivering a double last season.
With more transfer work needing to be done before the window closes in September, the Celtic fans will be hoping that more business is completed, and quickly, over the next couple of weeks.
