Celtic exited the Champions League after a heartbreaking draw against Bayern Munich.
The Bhoys put up an excellent display against Bayern but couldn’t hold out after Alphonso Davies knocked in a close-range rebound in the 94th minute to send Celtic out of the Champions League 3-2 on aggregate.
Brendan Rodgers praised the Hoops’ ‘heroic’ performance in the Allianz Arena but the Celtic manager will undoubtedly still be sore this morning as he picks the bones of the result in Germany.
But as many Celtic fans still feel immense pride at their team’s performance, Chris Sutton shares how he rally feels about the Scottish champions’ elimination from Europe’s top competition.

Sutton took to social media to express his admiration for Celtic immediately on the full-time whistle as the Hoops hero praised and ‘outstanding performance’.
Sutton said on X, “Absolutely outstanding performance from Celtic. Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve.”
It was a sentiment shared by all Celtic fans and one that will still gnaw away at them for a months to come yet.
However, Sutton wasn’t finished there.

Clearly having something on his mind, the Celtic hero took to X again just over half an hour later to share another thought about the Hoops’ draw in the Allianz Arena.
Sutton contained, “That was such a bold and brave and disciplined performance. The only thing which niggles away is Celtic didn’t have a strong enough bench to help the team.
“I still don’t quite get the Kyogo sale but that’s me being picky on a night to be proud.”
Whether Kyogo would have made any material difference last night is anyone’s guess but what cannot be denied is that with that result last night, Celtic and Brendan Rodgers have made the Scottish giants a name to be reckoned with in Europe again.
