Celtic secured another Scottish Premiership title on Saturday following victory against Dundee United.
It was Celtic’s fourth time winning the league at Tannadice, having also done so in the 1980/81, 2007/08, and 2021/22 seasons, respectively.
The title win also took Celtic level with Rangers, both sides having now won the Scottish top-flight 55 times.
Celtic have done exceptionally well to close this record over the last two decades, winning 14 of the last 15 Scottish Premiership titles to equal their biggest rivals.
And now Chris Sutton has detailed the reason behind the Bhoys’ success in recent years.

Chris Sutton puts Celtic’s success down to their ‘mentality’
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the clash with Dundee United on Saturday, Sutton waxed lyrical about Celtic’s success in recent years.
The former Hoops striker said: “Celtic have made winning the league look easy, and it’s anything but.
“When I came up [to Celtic Park] in 2000, [that season] was the third time Celtic had won a treble. They’re winning them every other season now.”
The 50-year-old added: “It’s phenomenal, the mentality of this team.”
In praising Celtic’s mentality, Sutton also emphasised both the role of Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou before him, adding: ‘I think [Celtic’s achievements are] so underestimated. It’s hard winning games of football.”
How Brendan Rodgers’ and Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic records compare
Saturday’s Scottish Premiership triumph was Rodgers’ 11th major trophy as Celtic manager, taking him ahead of Neil Lennon in the all-time list of Bhoys managers.
Following Celtic’s 5-0 win against St Johnstone, the Northern Irishman will have the chance to add to this tally in the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen in May.
Should his side win that tie, it will also be the third treble Rodgers has won with the club (fourth if you also count the 2018/19 season before the 52-year-old left for Leicester).

By contrast, Ange Postecoglou won five major trophies in his two seasons at Celtic Park.
This included one treble-winning season in the 2022/23 season.
Both managers have therefore done an incredible job in their tenures at the club, being major parts in the Bhoys drawing level with Rangers.
