Chris Sutton has called out Neil Lennon and Kris Boyd after the Sky Sports trio had a full blown argument about Celtic’s recruitment before the defeat to Hearts.
Sutton called it correctly about Celtic’s recruitment as the former Hoops striker said the current poor performances were down to the club’s shambolic summer transfer business.
Kris Boyd tried to pin all the blame on Brendan Rodgers’ tactics, whereas Neil Lennon claimed not all of Celtic’s recruitment this summer was all bad.
And after watching Hearts beat Celtic at Tynecastle, Sutton made two big claims about the Tynecastle club and followed it up with a brilliant swipe at Lennon and Boyd after they ganged up on the big Englishman live on Sky Sports.

Chris Sutton’s two big Hearts claims after beating Celtic at Tynecastle
After Hearts’ deserved win, Sutton took to social media to praise the Tynecastle club and make two big claims about Derek McInnes’ team.
Sutton said on X, “Hearts deserved it. Streetwise, organised and better forward players than Celtic. This Celtic team are a shambles.
“How many Celtic players would get into the Hearts team right now? Hearts will never get a better chance to win the league… Celtic not even a Honda Civic today…”
As ever, Celtic had all the possession but none of the penetration and firepower to take advantage of that and it’s all down to one thing, poor summer recruitment.
Sutton calls out Lennon and Boyd after Sky Sports duo’s Celtic transfer stance
As we told yesterday, Sutton, Lennon and Boyd all had an on-air bust-up over why Celtic have been so poor this season.
And after Hearts went eight points clear of Celtic, Sutton correctly doubled-down on his view that the transfer dealings from the Parkhead club is the main reason his old club are so poor this season.
Sutton said, “Extraordinary from the Chuckle brothers this… the recruitment is the primary reason why Celtic have been sluggish at the start of the season and why there is all the unrest right now.”
As it stands, Rodgers needs to work with the players he’s got because the transfer window doesn’t open for another couple of months yet.
As the Celtic boss refused to speak about transfers yesterday, Rodgers needs to find a way to get a tune out of this team with Falkirk, Rangers and FC Midtjylland up next.
