As Celtic continues to search for a new manager, one of the men linked to the job has been told this morning that he is still wanted at his current club.

David Moyes wakes up this morning still pinching himself after leading West Ham to European glory with a 2-1 win against Fiorentina last night in the Europa Conference League.

Moyes was coming under pressure after a poor domestic campaign saw The Hammers flirt with relegation this season.

But after his European exploits last night, West Ham owner, David Sullivan has said that Moyes will remain as manager at the London Stadium.

Sullivan told Talksport, “We believed in him.

“We came in for a lot of pressure from supporters, the press and everyone who seemed mad on making changes but we believe in honouring contracts.

“David had a contract with us and has a contract with us until next summer and next summer we’ll look at it again.

“Until then, if he wants to remain as manager then he will remain as manager of West Ham.”

‘If he wants to’. We all know Moyes has been linked with the Celtic manager’s job. In fact, he was asked about it recently and he said that he was happy and settled at the EPL club.

But as this week can attest to, football is a funny old game. It wasn’t too long ago we were listening to Ange Postecoglou telling us that as long as Celtic wanted him he would be ‘sticking around’.

Well, Celtic did want him to stay yet he still left for Spurs. Personally, I can’t see the David Moyes links being anything other than just rumours.

For a start, he plays a completely different style of football to what our current players are used to. Plus after last night’s European final win, Moyes will likely harbour ambitions to kick West Ham on and improve their English Premier League status.
