Derek McInnes is told where Hearts will finish in the league after collapsing since Celtic win

Celtic will take on Hearts this Sunday where Wilfried Nancy could become an instant hero by taking the Bhoys back to the top of the league.

This will, obviously, be dependent on Wednesday night’s result from Celtic’s next fixture against Dundee at Parkhead and Hearts’ match with Kilmarnock at Tynecastle.

However, since Hearts beat Celtic in the capital, Derek McInnes’ side have won just one game while remaining two points ahead of the Bhoys.

That could all change this week but it seems that Hearts’ drop in form has led a football stats site to tell McInnes exactly where his team will end the season behind Celtic.

Hearts told they will finish third to champions Celtic and second-placed Rangers

Stats site Football Meets Data has analysed Hearts’ form since their win over Celtic and delivered an end-of-season verdict that will not please McInnes one bit.

On X, stats account, Football Meets Data said, “Since they’ve beaten Celtic and gone to an 8-point advantage Hearts have won only 1 game.

“We have them now projected to finish 3rd on 70 points.”

Looking at last season’s table, 70 points will keep Hearts at least 10 points clear of the rest in what would be a good season for the capital club.

Hearts’ next three fixtures after Celtic could end their title aspirations

Regardless of what happens when Hearts come to Celtic Park on Sunday, the Tynecastle club’s next three fixtures will likely end their title aspirations.

What is a very real possibility is that, come close of play Sunday, Hearts will have let an eight-point lead slip to a four-point deficit.

And that proves that to be in a sustained title race, Hearts simply have not got the mentality that Celtic do.
