It’s time for Celtic to plan another title party.

The post-split fixtures are finally out, and Brendan Rodgers’ side are tasked with facing Dundee United at Tannadice first up.

With Celtic heading towards the title, the fixture will kick off at Saturday lunchtime on April 26, and finally the supporters might be able to celebrate.

From St Johnstone to Kilmarnock, there have been many opportunities for the Treble-chasers to wrap the title up, but time and time again, the team have let themselves down, as only a point would do at Dundee United now.

Jim Goodwin’s side are punching well above their weight, and after promotion, are chasing a possible European spot, so they will be fired up for this one.

Dundee United fans are mixed about their post-split fixture start against Celtic

One thing is for sure, Celtic won’t get three stands, like they did against St Johnstone, so expect Dundee United to do all they can to spoil the title party.

But many of them had an interesting take on getting Celtic first up, with a mixed response, including how they should look to win the title at Ibrox instead.

If the Hoops lose to Dundee United, and Rangers also win their first post-split fixture, then one point at Ibrox, the following week, will be enough for a 14th out of 15th title to be secured.

@DundeeUnitedFTD told Celtic to go win the title at Ibrox: ‘Fantastic. @CelticFC if you fancy letting us win so you can beat rangers and win the title that’ll be good’.

@AaronHa41779692 explained why he was pleased with Celtic first up: ‘Happily have Celtic as the first game hardest game gone’.

@78Dundee disagreed: ‘Would on paper be easier playing them after they’d wrapped up the league. Youngsters & fringe players surely get a chance for Celtic after the league is won.’

@uddyarab isn’t happy: ‘I know we need to play them sometime but opening with Celtic isn’t ideal unless we get something. Otherwise we’re playing catch up again with the teams around us in all likelihood’.

@ftbldufc isn’t surprised: ‘could have guessed that the first and last games would be them’.

@GeogreFoxStaple added: ‘I can see us easily get 7 points out of these games which should be enough to get fourth, I see rangers and Celtic too strong to get points off of’.

@liamthomson_97 is trying to stay positive: ‘Arguably 2 hardest games first… don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad thing. If we go 2 losses into the st mirren game could be a nervy game as we don’t want them catching us . Staying postive though’.

@alanftemple stated: ‘Not exactly a dream opener but, boy howdy, if there’s still all to play for: THAT LAST DAY’.

Another Dundee United fan who isn’t surprised, as @DUFCARABS2 added: ‘Shocker we get Celtic but battle for third last game of season will be nice’.

Celtic’s post-split fixtures in full

This upcoming weekend is going to be dominated by the two Scottish Cup semi-final fixtures, including Celtic taking on St Johnstone for a place in the final against either Hearts or Aberdeen.

Win that, and then Rodgers is 90 minutes away from another Treble, and he will have the rest of the post-split fixtures to gear up for it.

After losing the last two Glasgow derby matches, Celtic are going to have their bit between their teeth for the trip to Rangers on May 4, with St Mirren being the final clash of the campaign.
