What a weekend it has been for Celtic supporters.
The same can’t be said for those in Rangers colours, because once again, history is repeating itself.
It never rains at Ibrox, it pours. The tears are flowing after Celtic booked their League Cup final ticket by beating 10-man Rangers at Hampden on Sunday.
To nobody’s surprise, the modern-day Rangers release more statements than wins against Celtic at Hampden because they have gone down that road again.
There were several questionable calls in that game, and it has resulted in the Gers asking questions of the Scottish Football Association (SFA).

What have Rangers said about Celtic’s League Cup semi-final win?
On Monday evening, 24 hours after Celtic booted Rangers out of Hampden, those at Ibrox did what they do best, and that’s release a statement.
Rangers shared that ‘Club representatives met with the Scottish FA‘, as they ‘seek explanations‘ for what they deem ‘major decisions‘ during the match.
The first ‘major decisions‘ they put forward was Auston Trusty’s challenge on Jack Butland at the end of the first half.
Rangers then went on to say that, following the conclusion of this meeting, they remain ‘unsatisfied with the explanation of the referee’s decision.’
What have Celtic fans had to say?
The Celtic Park faithful find it interesting that several ‘key decisions’ have been left out, including Derek Cornelius’ red card challenge in the first half, and then not getting booked again in extra-time when he threw Callum Osmand to the floor.
Daizen Maeda’s questionable offside goal was also put on the table, as well as that dubious penalty awarded to Rangers in the second half.
But all in all, the Celtic supporters could do nothing but laugh at what they are hearing from Rangers, because it’s the same old, again and again and again.
@Gastro_Celtic threw in some verbal punches: ‘This statement is almost like getting to the Cup Final. Well done.’
Same old Rangers, as @James_1888__ added: ‘New owners, same crayons. 😂’
@Liam98__ brought up the Cornelius challenge: ‘Care to comment on this key incident?’
Forever ‘statement FC’, as @rhod67 mentioned: ‘Statement FC at it again.’
@didsburyceltic also rubbed it in: ‘Taking defeat well, lads 👍🍀.’
@declancfc67 summed it up brilliantly: ‘😂😂😂 Embarrassing club.’
Rangers can never take it on the chin, as @Magnificent7kok alluded to: ‘Every time we beat you lot, there’s always excuses. If it’s not the refs, it’s something else. Always cheated, never defeated.’
The dubious calls that are getting very little mention, as @26hourglass touched upon: ‘Did you also ask why Derek Cornelius was not sent off, you were given a dubious penalty kick, and VAR was unable to draw lines at the correct time for our first goal?’
@GrandAuldTeam_ just laughed: ‘Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahjahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahajajajajahajajahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahjahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahajajajajahajajahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahjahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahajajajajahajajahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahjahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahajajajajahajajahahahah.’
This is how Rangers’ statement should have read out, as @mdcfc22 stated: ‘Club statement – we got beat again.’
And again, and again, and again, as @JMCG188888 added: ‘Statement FC strikes again 😂😂😂.’
@ayespoton hit the nail on the head: ‘You literally cannot take accountability for any game you lose, can you? 😂’
