Ewan Otoo has finally completed his summer move from Celtic to Dunfermline. 67 Hail Hail spoke earlier in the week about how The Pars were looking to take him to Fife after impressing during his short loan spell last season.

Otoo helped Dunfermline to the League One title after making 11 appearances for the club. The youngster can now look forward to playing his football in the Scottish Championship next season.

Clearly delighted, Otoo was speaking about the move and said that his goal after his loan spell was to return to Dunfermline next season. And now he has gotten his wish.

Otoo said [Dunfermline FC], “The kind of person I am, I’m kind of open to anything.

“My goal for the loan was to be in a position where Dunfermline wanted me back for the next season, so from that point of view I think it’s been a success.

“Then, from the way it went personally, I made my mind up that I wanted to come back. All in all, I would say I’m happy that’s the way it’s went.

“I feel like I ended last season quite strongly, so that’s something I’m hoping to do.

“Hopefully just hit the ground running, start really strongly and continue that through to this season.

“I didn’t want last season to end, I enjoyed it that much! In my head I kind of knew this would be the best place for me to be playing football next season.

“I had interest from elsewhere, I had a couple of clubs that were monitoring my situation.

“But, as I said, I had my mind pretty much made up. I think it’s the best place to continue my development.”

Otoo is a Celtic academy graduate. He was capped by Scotland at youth level and made his debut against Russia u17 in August 2018.

After signing a contract extension in 2019, he continued his development with a brief loan spell at Clyde where he made 15 appearances in season 2020/21.

A season spent in the Celtic B team was then followed up with his loan move to Dunfermline and the 20-year-old has not looked back since.

We wish young Otoo well in this new chapter in his career. It’s always great to see young Celtic prospects move on and develop their careers if one at Celtic cannot be carved out.
