Nicolas Kuhn has made a slow start to life at Como after leaving Celtic in the summer.
But that doesn’t mean Cesc Fabregas’ side aren’t making the headlines because they are doing so, on and off the pitch.
Como are currently in the European places in Serie A, after beating Juventus over the weekend – Celtic’s double-winner Kuhn was an unused substitute – he is yet to score or assist in six matches this term.
| Kuhn’s games for Como | Starts | Off the bench | Unused substitute | Total minutes |
| 6 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 258 |
But there is more noise about the Italian club off the pitch, amid Como’s plans to play AC Milan in Australia for a Serie A match.

Villarreal and Barcelona’s La Liga game in Miami cancelled
Another European league match that was due to be played abroad was Villarreal vs Barcelona, but that has now been cancelled after La Liga players protested.
Before the start of every top-flight match in Spain over the weekend, the La Liga players would stand still for 15 seconds after kick-off, and now the match has been called off.
There is a lot of anger around this situation, including Villarreal saying they have been shown ‘a lack of respect’ by being told about the cancellation moments before they played Manchester City in the Champions League in midweek.
Will AC Milan vs Como follow suit?
Celtic vs Rangers is one of the biggest games in the world, and you can just imagine both fanbases being angry if any of their Premiership matches were played abroad.
There is that same negative noise around Milan and Como, which is why it has been suggested that the Serie A match might not take place in Australia anymore, as reported by Football Italia.
It has been suggested that the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA are under serious pressure to overturn the decision despite UEFA granting the match.
Given that the Villarreal-Barcelona game won’t be played overseas, you would presume that this match will follow suit.
If not, then those big fixtures across Europe, such as the Glasgow derby, should brace themselves to be played abroad because it will only be a matter of time.
