Nicolas Kuhn became one of Celtic’s most expensive transfers of all time this summer.
Kuhn left Celtic this summer in a £16.5m deal to join Como as the German winger looked to move on his career on from Scotland.
The 24-year-old suffered a huge drop in form since January but still managed to make a significant contribution to Celtic’s double-winning season.
Speaking about his new player, Como boss Cesc Fabregas explained why he signed Kuhn from Celtic as he shared how the German was feeling in Paradise ahead of his big summer move.

Nicolas Kuhn was ‘really happy’ at Celtic before Como move
Fabregas was speaking ahead of Como’s win over Al-Ahli last night as he talked up Celtic and Nicolas Kuhn’s goalscoring record.
Fabregas told Lariosport, “I spoke with Nic about it and he was really happy there, so he always speaks very well but yeah it’s a very competent team.
“He has speed, quality, how he comes inside and he has a final ball. How he scores goals.
“21 goals even if Celtic are really superior in many parts of the season, to score 21 goals and 15 assists is really really impressive.”
What Nicolas Kuhn said about leaving Celtic for Como
Kuhn may well have been happy at Celtic but he sure had a funny way of showing it.
Speaking as a Como player after leaving Celtic, Kuhn said, “I’m really excited to be here. I had a long chat with the coach and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch, familiarise myself with the stadium and play in front of our fans.
“The decision was easy: the project is ambitious, and I want to be part of it, doing my best to help the team grow and achieve increasingly important goals.
“The city is beautiful — a real film set! I’m happy to start this new adventure in such a beautiful place.”
If Kuhn really was happy, then the decision to leave Celtic certainly wouldn’t have been ‘easy’, as he puts it.
However, everyone at 67 Hail Hail still wishes him well, indeed, unless Kuhn comes up against Celtic this weekend.
