Celtic fans love Champions League football. It’s where the real excitement is.
And while the vast majority of supporters accept that Celtic will never win the competition, rubbing shoulders with Europe’s elite competition still drives real enthusiasm.
Celtic beating RB Leipzig and drawing with the likes of Atalanta put Celtic on the Champions League map but now, this season, the Europa League is the club’s stage.
However, it appears that if Celtic can negotiate the Champions League play-offs, assuming the league is won, fans have now been told which pot the club could see themselves in next season.

The teams Celtic can avoid if Champions League prediction comes true
Website, Football Rankings has predicted what Champions League pot Celtic could find themselves in next season and the teams the club could meet is frightening.
- Pot 1 – Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona
- Pot 2 – Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, AS Roma, Feyenoord, Club Brugge, PSV, AC Milan, Sporting Lisbon
- Pot 3 – Juventus, RB Leipzig, Porto, Napoli, Villareal, Bodo/Glimt, Olympiacos, Aston Villa, Marseille
- Pot 4– Monaco, Lyon, Galatasaray, Slavia Prague, Celtic, Red Star Belgrade, Midtjylland, Newcastle United, Pafos
There are some real tasty ties Celtic could get but it’s all down to whether or not they can negotiate the qualifiers which have been found to have been a bit of a bane around the club’s neck.
Celtic’s current Europa League position
Unfortunately, Celtic are in the Europa League and the club is currently struggling.
A creditable 1-1 draw against Red Star in Serbia was wiped out with an embarrassing 2-0 Celtic Park defeat against SC Braga.
These results leave Celtic in 28th place in the table, two points from the play-off places and three from automatic qualification.
With plenty of football left to be played, Celtic can still get into the last 32 but performances need to pick up sharpish.
