If Celtic fans think their club has endured chaos this season, it completely pales in comparison to the absolute circus currently unfolding at Real Madrid.
For the second season running, Madrid are going trophyless, and Celtic fans are fully aware of the reaction that would generate if that happened in Glasgow.
But on Tuesday, remarkable scenes unfolded in Spain when Real Madrid president Florentino Perez called a very rare press conference.
Perez didn’t discuss their successive trophyless campaign, rumours that Jose Mourinho will return, or the fight between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde that resulted in the latter being hospitalised with a head injury.
Instead, Perez launched a verbal attack on his critics, citing the trophies Madrid have won under his stewardship, and claimed that he is the victim of an ‘organised campaign’ to unseat him as president.
Even though those scenes in Madrid were remarkable, imagine Desmond doing something of that note in Glasgow?!
Do you think Dermot Desmond would really consider selling his Celtic shares?

Should Dermot Desmond hold a Florentino Perez-like press conference at Celtic?
Everyone remembers Celtic’s cancelled AGM from November, when Desmond put forward his son, Ross, to air his dirty laundry.
Desmond junior, clearly a mouthpiece for his dad, dared to verbally attack the Celtic Park faithful, and it didn’t end well.
But in Desmond’s own right, Celtic have won domestic trophy after domestic trophy under his stewardship, and imagine what he would say if he were to hold a Perez-like presser?
Rather than hearing from Desmond via statements when he is verbally bashing Brendan Rodgers, it would actually be great to hear from him, as Perez tried to do in Madrid.
Yes, you have to live in cloud cuckoo land for that to happen, but one of the biggest bugbears of this campaign has been the lack of communication from the top at Celtic.
Yes, Celtic fans now hear from stand-in chairman Brian Wilson, and it has been refreshing. But once again, radio silence from the man making the big and key decisions.
Either way, if Desmond were to ever go down the road of Perez, then just like the Spanish businessman, he would probably verbally take down his critics and not actually address the issues at hand.
