Inter Milan vs Celtic 1967 European Cup win

A date etched in history, the 1967 European Cup win will never be matched by another club in the history of the competition again.

For one, no other Scottish team will ever win the competition that has now been repackaged and diluted as the Champions League.

Finances dictate that smaller nations will now never be on a level playing field with the top five leagues in Europe.

Secondly, Celtic won the trophy with a team full of Scots. A line-up of Simpson, Craig, McNeill, Clarke, Gemmell, Murdoch, Auld, Johnstone, Chalmers, Wallace and Lennox were all born in and around Glasgow.

A feat never to be matched again, Celtic’s Lisbon Lions will always be regarded as legends and immortal by fans all around the world.
