Alexandro Bernabei’s post-Celtic career continues on an upward trajectory this season.

Bernabei is enjoying a rich vein of form ever since leaving Celtic for Internacional permanently in the January transfer window.

Celtic banked a tidy profit from the sale of the Argentinian, and in return, Bernabei has seen his career go from strength to strength at the Brazilain Serie A club.

After winning the Campeonato Gaucho back in March, Bernabei is now taking part in the Copa Libertadores, where he has just piled misery onto former Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos.

Internacional smashes Alfredo Morelos’ Atletico Nacional as ex-Celtic defender impresses

Bernabei’s Internacional sit at the top of their group this weekend after they smashed Alfredo Morelos’ Atletico Nacional 3-0.

The former Celtic defender was in decent form as he helped keep Morelos at bay as the former Rangers striker drew his seventh blank in 12 games this season.

Bernabei is certainly showing signs of the player that made Celtic shell out almost £4m for back in 2022 and it’s great to see the Argentine flourish away from the glare of the Glasgow goldfish bowl.

How has Alexandro Bernabei fared since leaving Celtic for Internacional

Since he left Celtic for Internacional on loan back in January 2022, Bernabei has been an integral part of the Brazilian Serie A side’s success.

A popular addition to Internacional’s squad, Bernabei also helped his side finish fifth in the league last season and is already enjoying an unbeaten start to the 2025/26 season.
