Alexandro Bernabei sealed his permanent Celtic exit to Internacional in the early hours of this morning.

67 Hail Hail discussed how Internacional announced the signing of the former Celtic fullback after Bernabei’s successful season on loan at the Brazilian Serie A side.

After 25 appearances, three goals and five assists, Inter were desperate to make Bernabei’s Hoops loan move permanent after officials jetted to Celtic over the past few weeks to conclude a deal.

As confusion reigned over Bernabei’s future in the Brazilian media last week, it seems that the deal was all but done as both clubs put the finishing touches to the deal.

And now, with his Celtic Park spell over, Bernabei starts a new chapter in his career with the Bhoys set to bank a tidy fee for the Argentinian fullback.

The impressive fee Celtic will bank for selling Alexandro Bernabei to Internacional

Celtic paid Lanus £3.75m for Bernabei back in the summer of 2022 and after finding it difficult to settle at the club, the 24-year-old was moved out on loan to the Brazilian club.

And in a post on social media this morning, Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has laid out just how much Celtic will bank on the deal.

Joseph posted on X, “CONFIRMED: Internacional have signed Celtic left-back Alexandro Bernabei in a deal worth £5m. Bernabei has agreed a three-year contract with the Brazilian club, after a successful loan last season.”

What persuaded Internacional to pay Celtic £35m for Alexandro Bernabei

The chances of Celtic raking back the full £3.75m for Bernabie looked very slim considering his troubled period at the club.

However, his loan at Inter has been beneficial for both Bernabei and Celtic and here is why 67 Hail Hail believes the Brazilian club paid over what the Hoops did in 2022.

Bernabei scored some big goals as he helped Internacional qualify for the prestigious Copa Libertadores this season.

There is no doubt Bernabie’s move away from Celtic has suited the player and thanks to his brilliant form, the Hoops are set to bank a tidy profit from the fullback.
