Celtic fans have been voicing their displeasure, anger and frustration at the board all season long.
Whether Wilfried Nancy is in the Celtic dugout or the legendary Martin O’Neill, the same feelings have been expressed again and again.
Over the weekend, as Celtic beat Dundee in the Scottish Cup, some supporters opted against taking to their seats at Parkhead, and instead, voted with their feet.
This has seemingly upset Frank McAvennie, as he explained why it’s a ‘problem’ for the Celtic players on the field of play.
Frank McAvennie takes issue with Celtic fan protests. Do you agree?

Frank McAvennie is critical of Celtic fans’ boycott of Dundee
Premier Sports were the host broadcasters for Celtic’s Scottish Cup tie against Dundee, and the vast amount of empty seats was mentioned on commentary before kick-off.
But speaking on his Let Me Be Frank Podcast, McAvennie thinks such actions ‘really affect the players’, and that’s why he has an issue with it.
McAvennie added, ‘I am not having a go at the Celtic Fans Collective’, but he feels some supporters just want to ‘take their kids and go watch the game.’
Simon Houston: “The other big talking point is the boycott seemed to take effect, as far as the numbers.”
McAvennie: “I have got a problem. I am all for people protesting and going against whatever they want to go against. It’s a free country, you can do whatever you want.
“As an ex-player, I think it affects the players. I think it really affects the players. I am not having a go at the collective or whoever it is.
“But people buy their tickets. Some people just want to take their kids and go watch the game. Support Celtic. All I did as a boy was support Celtic. My dad wouldn’t have got involved in not going against the board.
“Trust me, some of these guys don’t know what is around the corner. A new board? My God. Celtic have won, how many trophies in the last ten years? Because we have a bad team. I get they have money. They have spent. The fact that they have spent less money than St Mirren, who have spent £100k.”
The first thing I would do if I was on the Celtic board is – – – –
Martin O’Neill is the glue at Celtic
It wouldn’t be a surprise if several Celtic supporters take issue with McAvennie’s comments and think he is just keeping himself in the good books of those in the Parkhead boardroom.
Either way, these disagreements will go on and on, no matter what your standpoint.
But one thing everyone in Celtic colours can agree on is O’Neill, and the stellar job he is doing in trying to push the champions of Scotland towards a domestic double.
O’Neill is the glue at Celtic right now, and you fear where the Hoops would be without him.
