Kelechi Iheanacho is enjoying a very good start to his career at Celtic.
Brought in after Sevilla terminated his contract, Iheanacho has set the heather on fire at Celtic after scoring two goals and creating an assist in his first three games for the club.
Brendan Rodgers worked with Iheanacho at Leicester City and knows the quality the Celtic striker can bring to the club.
And so does England legend Gary Lineker who now tells Celtic what he thinks the new Bhoy will go on and do after he watched Iheanacho at his former club Leicester City.

Gary Lineker tells Celtic Kelechi Iheanacho will ‘bag a lot of goals’
Lineker is a legend at Leicester and he always keeps a close eye on his old club.
So when Iheanacho signed for Celtic, Lineker was quick to send the Parkhead club a message about their new summer signing.
Lineker told The Rest is Football, “I’ve seen the highlights, one of our favourites from Leicester, Kelechi Iheanacho scored, I think he will score a lot of goals for Celtic.
“He’s a very, very good finisher Kelechi, in the Scottish League he will bag a lot of goals.”
Celtic striker Kelechi Iheanacho’s record at Leicester City
Iheanacho was one of England’s hottest properties when he started his Premier League career at Man City.
A big move to Leicester happened where Iheanacho won an FA Cup and the Community Shield with Brendan Rodgers.
Here is his scoring record at the club:
- Appearances: 232
- Minutes on pitch: 10,868
- Goals: 61
- Goals per minute: 1 every 178 minutes
- Assists: 36
- Goals per game: 1 every 3.8 games
Hopefully Lineker is right and this is just the start of Iheanacho’s potential prolific spell at Celtic.
