Celtic fans have a highly respected reputation on these shores and across the continent.

Back in 2003, they were awarded the FIFA Fair Play Award for the colour, party atmosphere and behaviour they brought to Seville for the UEFA Cup Final.

They have also been ranked as one of the best supporter bases in the world where the Celtic support was put in the same company as fans from Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Liverpool.

For sheer passion and dedication, the Hoops support have been hailed from many quarters for decades for their support of the club.

Last weekend in the Glasgow Derby against Rangers, they generated that world-famous atmosphere that helped spur Celtic on to yet another win over our rivals.

And it was an atmosphere that blew Spanish commentator and La Liga journalist Guillem Balague away.

Balague hails ‘incredible’ Celtic support

Balague has documented his weekend trip to Glasgow and posted it in a tweet on social media platform X.

In his tweet, Balague hailed his ‘incredible’ trip to Glasgow and the city’s ‘passion for football’.

If you watch the video, at the start he records the Celtic fans’ rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone and as he turns the camera back to himself he says, “Gets me every time.”

There is no doubt that the atmosphere generated at Celtic Park for the derby games and in the Champions League is one of the best in the world and it’s great to see a well-respected figure in the world of football looking genuinely impressed with it.

For Celtic now, it’s all eyes on Kilmarnock. And although the crowd heading to Ayrshire won’t be of Parkhead proportions, the noise and atmosphere created by the travelling support will, hopefully, be enough to help drive the team over the line to another league title.
