Gustaf Lagerbielke has been declared a ‘missing person’ in the city of Enschede in the Netherlands, according to a report.
The Swedish defender signed for Celtic in the summer of 2023 for £3m as Brendan Rodgers set about strengthening his squad for the start of his second spell as boss.
However, as time went by, Lagerbielke wasn’t fancied by the Northern Irishman and he fell down the pecking order.
The centre-back played for FC Twente on loan last season, before making a permanent £2.2m switch to SC Braga in the summer.

Ex-Celtic defender Lagerbielke officially posted ‘missing’ in Enschede
Lagerbielke has played nine games for the Portuguese so far, but has now been caught up in an extremely bizarre situation.
The local Enschede municipality, where Lagerbielke stayed during his loan at FC Twente, has declared the Swede a ‘missing person’.
That’s according to freelance journalist Mark Walker, who claims Lagerbielke failed to notify authorities that his residency in the district had officially ended in the summer.
As such, a notice was placed in a local newspaper declaring him missing, with the date he was last seen in Enschede being the day he left to sign for Braga.
The council said: “The municipality has carried out extensive investigations into where these people live. This shows that we do not know where they are now.
“Therefore, they are being removed as residents and are listed as missing persons.”
How has Lagerbielke been faring for Braga?
Aside from the extremely odd scenario Lagerbielke finds himself in, the Swede has been settling into life at Braga well.
As mentioned, he has made nine appearances for the club thus far, helping them to eight points from four league games.
Braga sit in 6th position, and will play in the Europa League league phase this season. In fact, Lagerbielke will face up against his ex-Celtic teammates when Braga play the Hoops on October 2.
