Haiti’s head coach has confirmed that he will hold talks with Odsonne Edouard about representing the nation at the 2026 World Cup.
Edouard has played for France at the various youth levels but qualifies for the Haitian national team through his parents.
They qualified for next year’s World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, and are now looking at recruiting extra players to strengthen their squad.
Ahead of the competition, Edouard was reportedly being considered by Haiti, and now their manager has confirmed the news.

There is no guarantee that Odsonne Edouard plays for Haiti
Although he would clearly improve their current options, there is no guarantee that Edouard commits to playing for Haiti.
Manager Sebastien Migne has said he needs to speak to the Lens striker first before making a final decision as he only wants players that are committed to the cause.
Speaking via The Herald, he said: “If other players were to join our squad, I need to talk to them individually to discover their reasons and enthusiasm for myself.
“I don’t want players joining up by default just because we are at the World Cup. So I intend to meet both Odsonne and Wilson soon.
“I would use the example of Jean-Kevin Duverne, who joined up with us last year and has taken the project very seriously indeed.”

When do Scotland play Haiti at the 2026 World Cup?
If Edouard was to play for Haiti at the World Cup, it means he would go up against Scotland.
That would lead to a reunion with the likes of Kieran Tierney, Ryan Christie, and others on the big stage.
Their Group C fixture is the two nation’s opening game of the tournament, and will take place at the early time of 2am on 14 June, 2026.
