With the international break reaching its conclusion this week, the Celtic fans don’t have too long to wait to see their heroes don the green and white Hoops again.
Celtic currently have 15 players on international duty which has given the fans a reason to stay tuned into football over the last couple of weeks.
And with Celtic set to face Hearts on Saturday, supporters will be buzzing for what many call the ‘real football’ to start back up again.
With Celtic’s fixture schedule becoming very busy from now until January, the opportunity for game time for fringe players becomes greater and it couldn’t be coming at a better time for Luis Palma.
Palma told he needs more game time at Celtic
The Honduran has spent a lot of time on the Celtic bench this season but, to be fair, Palma has been recovering from an injury picked up against Kilmarnock on the opening day.
But that’s not what’s been bothering Honduran manager, Reinaldo Rueda as he was asked if Palma would start against Jamaica in the Concacaf Nations League Group B match tonight.
Rueda told Diario Diez, “Such a short evaluation time, because of the opponent we are going to face, that situation has to be resolved this afternoon with the issue of the right-back.
“We’ve been monitoring Almendarez, he could be a good possibility and we already know Christopher, Marcelo is very versatile, he’s mentally available.
“Luis is recovering, it’s not easy for him, for me, for you and for the fans. Palma has that extra weight because he is playing in a very glamorous league, but it is a reality.
“From February to September without playing five consecutive games is not easy for the player, that situation must be deciphered.”
Palma’s record at Celtic
We have said on several occasions on 67 Hail Hail about Palma’s impressive start to his Celtic career last season.

Ten goals and ten assists are not to be sniffed at but the majority of those did come before the New Year. After that, Palma found it difficult to stake a permanent claim in the Celtic starting lineup ahead of Daizen Maeda, Nicolas Kuhn and James Forrest.
With just 36 minutes under his belt this season, Palma was left on the bench for the 3-0 wins over St Mirren and Rangers.
Inconsistent form has left him on the fringes but with a full pre-season under his belt with Brendan Rodgers, Palma must now kick on this season at Celtic.
