Efrain Juarez is one of the managers who has been linked with the Celtic job.
Wilfried Nancy is the current favourite but the former Hoops star is someone who has also been mentioned in passing.
Juarez confirmed that he is aware of the interest from Celtic, but refused to say if he would entertain the idea of returning to Glasgow.
Not long after speaking about the vacant job, the former Hoops midfielder was back in the dugout for Pumas UNAM for their Mexican top flight clash.

Pumas lose after Efrain Juarez links
Sadly for Pumas and Juarez, the distraction of the links to the vacant Celtic job may have played a part in their latest game.
Pumas lost 3-1 to Pachuca, leaving them 10th in the Liga MX after 17 games of the season.
That has left their chances of reaching the play-offs in doubt, but Juarez told the media that any accusations of failure were incorrect.
He said: “The word failure is in all of us; not trying, to me, is failure. We tried and it didn’t work out.
“The process we’re undergoing leaves me with lessons in all areas to improve.”
Efrain Juarez not likely to become the next Celtic manager
Despite the concrete links to the job, it is fair to say that the current Pumas boss isn’t the favourite for the role.
Juarez has only been in charge for six months after a successful spell in Colombia and may not be so keen to move on so quickly.
His lack of experience managing in Europe may also be a worry for the Celtic hierarchy. However, they would face the same dilemma if they opt to appoint Nancy.
Other potential candidates like Kieran McKenna and Kjetil Knutsen haven’t been mentioned in the conversation for some time, but would still be higher in the pecking order.
