Hugh Keevins has a bizarre knack of getting his predictions about Celtic and Rangers superbly wrong over the years.
The Daily Record journalist and radio pundit on Clyde Superscoreboard made some very strange comments about Celtic on the morning before Rangers dropped points against Dundee at Ibrox.
Keevins listed ‘five reasons’ why he would put his pension on Rangers beating Celtic if both teams met yesterday afternoon.
But it was six words in his first reason that have come back to haunt Keevins today as Celtic have the opportunity to go four points clear of the Ibrox club.

Hugh Keevins’ foolish ‘Rangers are everything Celtic are not’ comments
With Rangers already behind in the league title race, Keevins went in two-footed with the latest of his bizarre Celtic predictions.
This was the headline on Keevins’ latest column, “Rangers are everything Celtic aren’t right now as smart money is on the club that’s throwing it about“.
The smart money would have been on waiting after the first Glasgow Derby of the season before making such a bold statement. But it gets better for Celtic fans.
Keevins continued, “Brendan Rodgers has so far been thrown a rubber ear by the Celtic board when it comes to matching his ambition in the transfer market.
“If Celtic were playing Rangers today, who would your money be on? I know where some of my state pension would go at the bookies – the blue corner. At the moment, Rangers are everything Celtic are not.“
To be fair to Keevins, Rangers are everything Celtic are not right now. The Ibrox club are not cash rich and they don’t have a squad full of multiple-title and treble-winners.
And, most importantly of all, Rangers are not sitting at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with the chance to go four points ahead of Celtic right now.
Three more zingers about Celtic Hugh Keevins has got absolutely wrong
Hugh Keevins slid in two-footed on Celtic’s signing of Callum Osmand this summer as the radio pundit launched a strange warning to the Parkhead club about Rangers’ transfer business.
Keevins said at that time, “And Celtic do have to match Rangers. The days of David Murray saying, ‘If Celtic put down a fiver, I’ll put down a tenner’, they’re over because the balance of power has switched the other way.
“Celtic have to make sure that they have a good summer because I have a feeling they are going to need it.”
That’s working out well so far, isn’t it?
Last season, as Celtic stretched their lead to Rangers to ten points, Keevins continually poked at Celtic when 2-1 up against Motherwell as he predicted that the Steelmen would equalise despite not having a shot on target for the whole of the second-half of the Parkhead fixture.
And finally, Celtic fans will always remember the classic Keevins comments about Lubomir Moravcik which still haunt him to this day.
The Celtic hero addressed those comments this summer when he said he has ‘moved on’ from them. It’s unlucky for Hugh that the Parkhead support have not.
