Hugh Keevins claims to have some good news for Celtic fans who want Jens Berthel Askou.
Askou is among the favourites for the Celtic job, which is expected to be vacated by Martin O’Neill in the summer.
As Motherwell manager, he has taken Scottish football by surprise with a successful and dominant brand of football, seen first hand by Celtic fans.
Keevins is convinced that a story from a protected source will please the Askou-in crowd.

Keevins wrote in the Daily Record: “I have a friend, whose identity I’ll keep to myself, who claims Jens Berthel Askou had a slip of the tongue in conversation with him recently and absent-mindedly referred to Celtic as ‘we.’
“This will please the radio caller I listened to who said ‘I beg the Celtic board’ to hire Motherwell’s manager in succession to Martin O’Neill for the start of next season.

‘I haven’t come to be a missionary. The focus is on how to win,’ was another significant soundbite.
It isn’t just Askou earning links to the Hoops this season – Tawanda Maswanhise was widely linked in January, and has since continued his excellent goalscoring form.
More recently, Elijah Just has also been linked with Celtic. Neither is likely to be short of suitors this summer.
Some in the media have claimed that Askou is ‘extremely keen’ on the Celtic job – whether that feeling is mutual remains to be seen.
