Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has seen off yet another Rangers manager after the sacking of Russell Martin.
The former Rangers boss was relieved of his duties and leaves the Ibrox club trailing Celtic in the league by 10 points.
Martin is the latest Rangers manager the Celtic boss has seen off and even though the Hoops are not at their sparkling best, a huge gap still separates both clubs in the Scottish Premiership table.
And now that Martin is gone, Alex Rae makes a Rangers title claim as he says Celtic are ‘not firing on all cylinders’.

Alex Rae’s title pain as he admits it’s already over for Rangers despite Celtic not ‘firing’
Rangers not only need to contend with Celtic, they also have Hearts to worry about as the Ibrox club flounder at the bottom half of the league table.
And looking at his old club’s troubles, Rae makes a title claim less than 24 hours after Rangers sacked their manager.
Rae told PLZ Soccer [18m], “I think he’s going to a dressing room that, confidence-wise, they’re on their knees. You look at the group, it would take some turning around to be successful in the league.
“I think 11 points. I think it’s less with Celtic, but Hearts look really good contenders to kick on and be successful.
“I think this season in terms of winning the league, I think it’s a big ask whoever comes in, even at this early stage.”
Rae admits Rangers are still ‘short’ to challenge Celtic
Despite spending millions this summer, Rangers appear to still be lacking the quality to challenge Celtic and that’s something that’s clearly hurting Rae.
Rae continued, “But if you get them up and running and get a few decent results, because I don’t think Celtic are firing on all cylinders, and if you can gather momentum with the current squad, then you may well get on a little run.
“But for what I’ve seen week to week with this group and the mentality within this group, I still think they’re short.”
Celtic will never write Rangers off whilst there are still over 30 games to play, it really is difficult to see how they can get back in.
However, that’s for them to worry about. As for Celtic, that late win against Motherwell will hopefully kickstart their season and fans will get to see the attacking team they have been accustomed to over the years.
