Liel Abada has been the subject of much transfer speculation over the last few months. Not long after changing his agent, the media in Scotland went a bit nuts and predicted that he was set to leave the club this summer.

After recovering from a thigh injury, Abada is now back in the manager’s plans and he made an appearance at Tynecastle on Sunday to help win the title.

Now that the celebrations have died down, Abada has moved to distance himself from the transfer speculation in an update that will delight the Celtic fans.

Abada said [Football Scotland], “I don’t care about what the newspapers or media says, I just care about how to improve every day, how to get better for the team, how to give 100 per cent.

“I am focused on getting the three trophies and this is the most important thing now.

“I am really happy at Celtic. Everyone looks after me and tries to help me get better. My relationships with the players and staff is very good. So I am really happy here. There is no rush. I have time. Right now we just focus to finish the season strong and this is the most important thing.

“When you play at a club like Celtic, there are a lot of great players, you have a lot of competition. But I am still young and I want to work hard every training session, every game, and help the team get our targets. It is the coach’s decision and, when the gaffer tells me I need to play, I will do the best for the team and try to get our target and this is the most important thing.”

Abada has been one of Ange Postecoglou’s most important signings over the last two seasons. The Israeli winger has scored 27 goals in 96 appearances for Celtic and created 18 assists.

At just 21-years-old, Abada has looked like he has played at Celtic all his days. He has come up with some huge goals for the club over the last two years.

His most memorable ones have been against Rangers in the 3-0 win last February that took Celtic to the top of the league and his double in the 4-0 hammering of our Glasgow rivals at the beginning of the season.

This is fantastic news for Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic fans and they can now look forward to next season with the Israeli international as part of the squad.
