Kyogo Furuhashi made his heartbreaking move from Celtic to Rennes in January.

Rennes paid Celtic £10m for the services of the Japanese striker and no sooner had the Bhoys sent Kyogo a message than the new Ligue 1 striker just reciprocated with a moving speech to the fans.

Kyogo enjoyed a special bond with the Celtic supporters during his three-and-a-half-year spell at the club and in a moving message to the fans, the Japanese striker hails the ‘wonderful’ support they game him during his time at Celtic Park.

Celtic shared the message from Kyogo on their social feeds as the now-Rennes striker said the Hoops fans made him ‘feel like the happiest player in the world’.

Kyogo told Celtic, “Over the past three and a half years, I have been truly grateful for your wonderful support and cheering. From the moment I joined until my final day, I’ve been happy every step of the way.

“Being able to enjoy so many wonderful moments and achievements with all of you made me feel like the happiest player in the world countless times. I believe these invaluable experiences were only possible because I came to Celtic.”

Whilst Kyogo praised the Celtic support, he also issued an apology for not being able to say goodbye properly to a fanbase in which he enjoyed a close emotional bond.

“Even as time goes on,” continues Kyogo, “I am deeply moved and encouraged by the many warm messages and kind words I continue to receive, and I cannot thank you enough.

“I move forward but I will keep all of you in my heart and continue on my journey.

“Lastly, I am very sorry that I couldn’t say goodbye to you all, but I will give my best in my new chapter. I’m confident that my wonderful Celtic teammates, along with the manager and his backroom team will continue to create new and exciting moments for the rest of the season.

“Please continue to show your amazing support for Celtic, just as you always have. HAIL HAIL.”

Kyogo gave the Celtic support so much joy after scoring 85 goals during his time at the club.

With seven winner’s medals in his back pocket including a record-breaking treble, the Japanese striker leaves the club with his head held high and with a special place within the Celtic supporters hearts for many years to come.
