Celtic fans still think they need a new striker.
Callum Osmand was signed on a development fee from Fulham earlier in the summer, while Shin Yamada’s move from Kawasaki Frontale bolstered the attacking department further.
Brendan Rodgers has opted, however, to play Daizen Maeda back on the wing and deploy Adam Idah as the central striker for the first two games of the new Scottish Premiership season.
And it’s safe to say supporters aren’t overly enamoured by that so far. Idah has yet to score and was dropped for Johnny Kenny against Falkirk on Friday night.
So will Idah be Celtic’s main number nine this season?

McFadden delivers honest verdict on Idah
Not according to Scotland legend and Open Goal pundit James McFadden, who thinks Celtic need to sign a better striker to challenge Idah.
Fellow pundit Gordon Dalziel reckons, however, that Celtic already have that answer in Maeda, and thinks the Japanese star is better as a central striker than out on the wing.
Si Ferry: “Can you see Idah being the No.9 for the season?”
McFadden: “No. I just think they need somebody to come in, for me, that’s better than him to challenge him, to bring him on. I don’t think you can go into the season with Idah as the main striker.
Dalziel: “I think they’ve got that. I think they’ve got it in the building. I think Maeda is a better centre forward than he is a winger. I just think he puts the fear of death into centre-halves and goalkeepers.”
Idah was poor against Aberdeen
Rodgers had the chance to start Idah against Falkirk on Friday night and give him an opportunity to score a few goals against a weaker opponent.
But the Northern Irishman decided against that and benched the striker for Kenny, as the manager rotated his team for the Premier Sports Cup tie.
Idah was poor against Aberdeen, however, so the decision is justified in that regard. He touched the ball just 20 times before being hooked in the second-half for Shin Yamada.
He also lost possession a whopping 10 times in the game, while registering just one shot off target.
